Jr Fire Company #2 Donation
The Potomac Valley Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association donated a coveted treat to some lucky firefighters on April 10th, 2021. A shipment of 35 gallons of Penn State Berkey Creamery Ice Cream and 14 boxes of Ye Olde Diner Grilled Stickies arrived at the Capital Crave in Frederick for distribution to local Penn Staters and one special delivery. Downtown residents, Gerry and Evan Stephens, represented the local alumni association chapter in delivering a gallon of vanilla ice cream and 4 boxes of Grilled Stickies to the Junior Fire Company No. 2 on North Market Street in Frederick, MD. To their surprise, there was a firefighter there that was very familiar with the Penn State Creamery. His brother was recruited to play football at Penn State at which time the family became very familiar with the Creamery. Another off-duty firefighter is a Penn State season ticket holder. He’ll have a nice surprise when he next returns to the station.
