Potomac Valley Chapter Gives

Scholarship, THON, & our General Fund

WE ARE passionate about giving back.   One of our Chapter's defining characteristics is our passion for scholarship.  Every year we give over $2,500 in scholarships to local students attending Penn State.  In addition we regularly give to THON.  You can help by donating to our Scholarship Fund, THON, or the Potomac Valley Chapter's General Fund by clicking the button below.

Gift cards to benefit SHIP

The Student Homelessness Initiative Partnership (SHIP) of Frederick County takes the initiative to partner with the Frederick County community (individuals, organizations, human service agencies, businesses, and government) to advocate for and provide resources for often overlooked homeless youths.

SHIP of Frederick County believes the power of education will alter the trajectory of a life. Operating at the intersection of education and homelessness, SHIP works to reduce barriers to education access by connecting Youths to shelter, community resources, and youth programming.

SHIP of Frederick County relies upon its community to help accomplish its mission.

The Potomac Valley Chapter (PVC) of the PSAA is supporting an ongoing gift card drive in support of SHIP.  PVC will periodically take donations from our alumni and purchase gift cards for SHIP of Frederick County to distribute as needed.

Please help us support this deserving organization and show Frederick County who “We Are”!

Hygiene Items

SHIP periodically makes requests of the community for a wide variety of FULL SIZE hygiene items including: soap and body wash, shampoo, toothbrushes and paste, shaving cream, toilet paper, and deodorant.

Throughout football season, our bin will be located at:

Pools, Patios & Porches (Penn Stater owned Business), 2 Wormans Mill Court, Frederick, MD 21701.  Stop by drop-off some items and do some holiday shopping in the Jingle Shop.

See SHIP's website for other drop off locations and more information.

Landscaping Capital Crave & the VFW

In 2021 we started maintaining the landscaping at our primary Watch Party location.  This is an evolving and ongoing project.

If you have plants or supplies to donate that may be helpful or if you're willing to volunteer your time and talents, please email us.

Donate to the Mont Alto Career Closet

Every couple of years we collect gently worn business attire to be donated to the Penn State Mont Alto Campus Career Closet.

“Some students may not have what they need to present themselves in a professional manner to prospective employers,” Gochenauer said in a Mont Alto news release. “The Career Closet is a way to ensure that they have appropriate workplace attire at no cost.” - From the Herald Mail
